There are three great gods, God of Sky, God of Earth and God of Water, often worshiped by Taiwanese people in traditional religious rituals. On the 15th day of the 10th lunar month, people will celebrate the birthday of God of Water and it is known as the Water Lantern Festival.
When the Water Lantern Festival arrives, the God of Water will descend to bless the good and punish the evil. At the time when there the autumn harvest is about to finish, people always go celebrating the Water Lantern Festival and pray to the three great Gods, especially the God of Water, for obtaining good luck and a plentiful harvest for the coming year.
Taichung Folklore Park will display this folklore for people to experience the traditional Taiwanese religious ritual. Some traditional toys and snacks will be available on site as well and "National treasure" artists will be invited to demonstrate their skills.
