Mei Creek
Mei 【Name of township】Beituen Chiu、Bei Chiu、Jung Chiu、Nan Chiu
【Types of terrain】river
【Description of terrain】
Mei Creek is a tributary of Dajia Stream, and flows in a north-north-east to south-south-west orientation. It enters Taichung City from Beituen Chiu, to Jiansing Rd., Daya Rd., National Taichung Second Senior High School, and then joins Liou Creek in Nan Chiu. In 1979, the creek was covered on the top in a beautification and clearing project. Its role of providing water to fields was changed into sewage, both of which involves deeply in citizens’ normal life. Though it has lost its natural look, it is playing multiple roles of preventing flooding, sewage, and recreation area.
