Guei Yang’s works were famous for their honest style, consolidate structure, and normal writing habit. His works let out the unbeatable spirits of the colonized Taiwanese people. His works are filled with hope, vision, and power of determined will and act, revealing his role as a nationalist and realist. In 1976, his work “Durable Roses” was adopted in the Chinese textbook for junior-high schools. This is the first article written in Chinese adopted in an official textbook.
