When Ching-Jye Shiau was the director of Taichung City Government, Nantuen Chiu Administration Office, he aggressively devoted himself to community construction and development. In 1994 as the director of the city’s Bureau of Civil Affairs, he computerized the Bureau of Civil Affairs, included ISO notary, and extended hours of the bureau till night to improve the service quality. He is now the president of Wanhe Temple, and deeply involved not only in public affairs but also in local culture and education.
