【Historical description】
Shituen used to be the territory of Pazehe Tribe, an
aboriginal Pingpu tribe. In was said in 1701, Cheng-Chu Wang
led 170 people to this area to develop. More of them were from
Jhang and Liao families. Their village was located at
Li-Tao-Dian (the current Nantuen Chiu), and Baya (the current
Daya), which was called West Dadun Street. The business center
of that time was located at the current intersection of
Guangming Rd. and Situn Rd. In 1920, it became Taichung-Jhou,
Datun County, Shituen Village. On February 1, 1947, it became
part of Taichung City, and was renamed as Shituen Chiu.

Location:
Shituen Chiu is located is located in the northwestern part of Taichung City. It is bounded by Heng Mountain (north side), Dadu-Mountain Plateau (west side), and Beituen, Bei, Shi, and Nantuen Chius (east and south sides).
Description:
Shituen Chiu is located at the border of Taichung City and County, where plenty of places worth seeing are located, including Dung Hai University and its surrounding business district, Donghai Art Street, Taichung Metropolitan Park, Feng Chia University and its neighboring Wunhua night market. Dung Hai University and Feng Chia are two famous universities in Taiwan. Taichung Metropolitan Park is the largest park in Taichung City. Feng Chia Wunhua night market is a hot spot for the youth. In addition, Taichung World Trade Center-First Building, and the New Civil Affair Center are also located here.
