【History】
The history of Wanhe Temple can date back to 1683.  When General Guo Jhang followed Hen Shih to come to Taiwan, he sent for God Mother of MeiJhou, China to bring good luck to their military ships.  Later he built a small temple to host God Mother.  His descendants then donated land to build a larger temple with financial support from other eleven families, which were Liao, Jian, Jiang, Liou, Huang, He, Lai, Yang, Dai, Chen, and Lin families. On September 20, 1726 the construction started.  This temple was then called Wanhe Temple for purposes of uniting people and hoping for harmony among different families.  The temple has been remodeled and reconstructed four times even since.
