【History】
In 1905, several millionaires including Siang-Ru Wu, Sian-Rong Gu, and Sian-Tang Lin, founded the first bank finically supported by Taiwanese-Chang Hwa Bank.  The bank was originally based in Changhua County.  Later it was moved to Taichung City in 1910 since Taichung City surpassed Changhua, and became the largest city in central Taiwan.  The current building of Chang Hwa was built between 1936 and 1938.

There is also a long flower-waved feature on a parapet. The door on Zihyou Rd. is made of bronze, right above which is a carved title of Chang Hwa Bank. Floor, casher desks, ceilings, and large glasses on the street side are the original from the Japanese Colonial Period.
