Sun Cake
Sun Cake 【Description】
Sun Cake was first baked by Cing-Hai Wei, also known as Chef A-Ming. It was initially a tea dessert during the old times in Taiwan. After a few times of changes of the recipe, Sun Cake has now become a saucer-shaped puff stuffed with caramel. A different story about the cake’s name is that during the Japanese Colonial Period of Taiwan, Japanese named it as Sun Cake due to its shape and color being similar to Sun, representing Japan. Visitors can find Sun Cake easily in stories or bakeries on Zihyou Road and major intercity arterials.
